A Travel Guide to Sydney Airport

Sydney Airport is oftentimes referred to as the Kingsford Smith Airport. This airport is the oldest in the world and is the busiest one in all of Australia. The airport is sitting right next to Botany Bay and has three runways to serve its clients. The airport is six miles south of Sydney.

From the airport, there are three ways to get to the Sydney town center. You can ride the taxi, bus, or rail. Using the Airport Link rail service, you can get from any one of the three terminals of the airport to the suburbs of Sydney or right into the center of it. With the train, you only have to allot 13 minutes travel time from the airport to Sydney Town Hall.

The Sydney Buses runs from the airport to the Bondi Junction and towards Burwood. Both the T1 and the T3 terminals have these buses available. There are bus stops along the way too and you can be dropped off from these places at will. There are shuttle buses serving the airport to almost all points of Sydney as well. You can book them in advance and they can very well take you to your hotel safely and securely.

Taxis are quite available too. There is a taxi rank available just outside the T1 terminal. Using the bus, you'll get to the city center in around 30 minutes. With a taxi, you can get there in twenty. Taxis are quite easy to hail and are mostly metered. They are good modes of transportation in Sydney although hiring a car for your own use is usually the best.

Rent a car while in Sydney through the major international car hire companies like Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget, Thrifty, and Red Spot. These companies have online partners that can help facilitate your car hire request. You can simply log in to the website and choose the car that best fits your needs. You can also get discounted rates from them, especially if you book early.

Traveling from the Sydney Airport to any point in the city is indeed a great convenience if you have your own set of wheels. Hire your car online and have it waiting for you at the car park right after you arrive.
