If you've already booked your flights to Dublin, and your Dublin accommodation, then perhaps you know exactly what you want to see and do here in Dublin. Alternatively, perhaps you're not sure what there is to see and do here, and why it's such a popular destination.
Here's what you need to know.
1. Taking a tour of Dublin is probably the best way to learn about this amazing city. Although tour buses are the most popular way of seeing the city, why not embark on a walking tour, and see how much more you can see and learn? The recently introduced podcast tours will allow you to explore the city in amazing detail, and see much more than you would from a bus.
2. Dublin is known throughout the world for its bars, restaurants and nightlife. You'll want to make sure that you visit the Temple Bar area and experience the Dublin hospitality for yourself.
3. Perhaps surprisingly, Dublin has several castles and fortifications to explore, and if you're in Dublin with your children, these are well worth the visit.
4. Why not visit some of the many museums and galleries in Dublin whilst you're here? You'll be able to find out more about why this city is so special, and more about its history.
5. Don't forget to see Georgian Dublin, and marvel at the architecture. There are many important Dublin public buildings that date from this time, and it's easy to see why they are still in use today.
6. If you want to get to know the real Dublin, then you'll want to make sure that you eat in the same places that Dublin natives do. The busy bars and restaurants will be busy for a reason, so if you want good food and a lively atmosphere, why not treat yourself?
7. The Guinness Stonehouse, and the Jameson Distillery are essential sights if you're fond of a tipple. These drinks have long and proud history and are known throughout the world. Why not learn more about them, so you can appreciate each pint, or dram even more?
8. Dublin, like most modern cities, has excellent shopping facilities, and whether you want to browse, or are looking for something in particular, you're sure to find what you want, in the shopping centres, or the exclusive designer boutiques.
9. If you're a golfer rather than a shopper, you'll be pleased to learn that there are approximately 60 golf courses in and around Dublin. Why not bring your clubs, and have a round or two whilst you're here?
10. Most of all, you'll want to enjoy yourself in Dublin, and not get too carried away about what you want to see and do. Perhaps you'll spend time in Phoenix Park, or not get time to look at some of the museums. Maybe you'll never leave Temple Bar! If you don't see and do everything you want to, why not come back again?
Now you know more about why you should visit Dublin, and some of what there is to see and do here, isn't it time you booked your flights to Dublin?
